September 18,2014 (Alpine)-- Viejas Casino & Resort set two new Guinness World Records today – for World’s Longest Sparkler Relay and World’s Longest Chain of Fireworks.
During a VIP party that drew over 1,000 guests this evening for Viejas’ 23rd anniversary, 299 people gathered around the pool at Viejas Hotel and handed off sparkler flames from one person to another, setting a Guinness World Record for Longest Sparkler Relay. The final sparkler lit a fuse that set off a spectacular chain of over 10,000 fireworks, setting a new Guinness World Record for Longest Chain of Fireworks.
Official Adjudicator Alex Angert from Guinness World Records was on hand to witness and certify both new Guinness World Records. He then presented Tribal Chairman Anthony R. Pico with the official certi
ficates.
